PhD Students
Research Assistanships
IMDEA-Software is actively seeking promising candidates for PhD Students Research Assistanships at the institute. The assistantships will provide support for the applicants during their studies conductive to a Master's or, preferably, a PhD degree.
Candidates should have obtained (or be close to obtaining) an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a closely related area, with excellent grades, specially in subjects related to Programming Languages and Software Engineering.
The working language at IMDEA-Software is English. Therefore, candidates should have reasonable command of the English language.
The support for position provided by in the form of a contract, for one year initially, and renewable for 4 additional years provided adequate research progress is being achieved. Initial salary is 20,000 euros per year. In addition to the salary, full health insurance is provided as well as other benefits.

- Details of the degree including a transcripts with ideally all grades, or at least those in subjects related with Software Engineering and Programming Languages.
- Three references willing to write letter supporting the application.
- A research statement
- Proof of proficiency in English (e.g., certificate of proficiency, TOEFL scores, work experience in English speaking environment, etc.). Other languages spoken.
- Any research publications.
- Participation in research projects.
- Any additional courses or employment.
- Any other information relevant to the position.
In addition, the three references should be asked to send a letter supporting the application separately to the same address, indicating clearly the applicant to which they apply.
If a candidate is currently supported by another grant IMDEA-Software may study how to combine that grant with IMDEA funds (topping up the salary, funding equipment or travel, etc.).
