The Community of Madrid has created a network of 10 R&D centres in cooperation with universities, research centres and companies in order to improve the welfare of the people of Madrid and its regional competitiveness.

IMDEA is the Community of Madrid’s new institutional framework that combines public and private support for science and directs top-quality research towards the demands of the market, encouraging the private sector to participate in the design of science. It also wants to give greater international visibility to the science and research carried out in Madrid, promoting excellence in R&D and the transfer of its results to society.
