The IMDEA Energy Institute has been created in order to promote R&D activities in energy-related themes, with main emphasis in those topics related with renewable energy and clean energy technologies. The ultimate goal will be to achieve outstanding scientific and technological contributions for reaching a sustainable energy system.

Accordingly, this Institute is expected to strength and to have a significant impact on the R&D activities on energy themes by bringing together high quality researchers, providing them with excellent infrastructures and resources, and promoting their tight collaboration with the industrial sector. It can be forecasted that IMDEA Energy will become in mid-term one of the reference institutions in energy-related research at an international level.
