The talent of the IMDEA Institute scientists has been publically recognized many times. Some of those that stand out are:

  • Medal of Honour for Fostering Invention from the García Cabrerizo Foundation 2015 (Dr. Guillermo Reglero).
  • Honour in Science and Research of the President of the Community of Madrid for International Woman’s Day 2016 (Dra. Ana Ramírez).
  • Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award (PhD. Marta Vivar) in the category "Innovative youth award 2016” for supporting innovative technological solutions to reduce water scarcity in the World.
  • The Farrington Daniels prize in 2009 from the International Solar Energy Society (Dr. Manuel Romero).
  • The CROWD project was selected as ‘5G precursor project’ by the European Commission 2014 (Dr. Vincenzo Mancuso).
  • The Women in Science Prize from L’Oreal UNESCO 2013 for Dra. Begoña Sot.
  • The Miguel Catalán Young Researcher Prize 2014 for Dr. Emilio Pérez Álvarez.
  • The naming of Dr. Javier Llorca as member of the European Mechanics Society (EUROMECH) in 2012 and of the European (Engineering and Physics section) in 2013.
  • The American Powder Metallurgy Institute (APMI) Prize 2015 (Dr. José Manuel Torralba).
  • The naming in 2010 of Dr. Manuel Hermenegildo Salinas as member of the European Academy.
