Collaboration with companies
The companies have taken part since the beginning in the design, definition of objectives, and have followed the results of the IMDEA institutes:
- Analysing their potential from a scientific, economic, business and social point of view
- Forming part of the Board of Trustees of the seven IMDEA foundations
- There are different forms of collaboration, including signing agreements and strategic alliances and forming a part of research groups
All of this promotes competitiveness and enables development of technology. In this way companies are improving the effectiveness of their R and D investment and their capacity to compete outside Spain.
Since the institutes were founded there have been many research projects and contracts involving participation of companies or financed by them. For example, in 2022, of the 643 projects and contracts in which the institutes have been involved, approximately 30% were contracts with companies.
