The Spanish government approves the construction of the IMDEA Materials headquarters

On 11th of September, the Ministries Council of the Spanish Government authorized the subscription of an agreement among Ministry of Science and Innovation, Madrid Government and the research organization “Fundación IMDEA MATERIALES” for the construction of the Headquarters of the Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies of Materials.

Experiments at the Berlin Synchrotron Radiation Facility

Scientists from Imdea Materials (Metal Physics Group) will carry out experiments at BESSY II (Berlin Synchrotron Radiation Facility) at the Berlin Helmholtz-Center for Materials and Energy. There, synchrotron radiation will be used to measure the internal stresses in omega and beta pure Zr, stabilized for the first time at room temperature and atmospheric pressure by high pressure torsion.
