The IMDEA Institutes at the Madrid Es Ciencia Fair 2022

From Wednesday the 2nd to Saturday the 5th of March, the IMDEA Institutes will participate in the XI Madrid Es Ciencia Fair organized by the Fundación para el Conocimiento madrimasd in pavilion 14 of IFEMA. Exciting days await us!
If you come to our stand, IMDEA Water researchers will convince you that water is everywhere: in the atmosphere, on the surface of the earth and below it, and in living beings; and will help you discover how to better use this unique resource for life.
With the IMDEA Food researchers you will discover that taking care of your microbiota, the adequate consumption of ultra-processed foods and computational biology can prevent diseases through Precision Nutrition.
IMDEA Energy researchers will answer such interesting questions as what do coal and a sponge have in common? And they will challenge you to show how much you know about energy and sustainability and to see if you know how to run an engine without fuel.
Regarding IMDEA Materials, we will have several experiments that will help us to better understand some of the new materials and their applications, which can range from health, to airplanes, through the batteries that we use in our devices…
At IMDEA Nanoscience, they will ask you a direct question: do you want to be a nano scientist for a day? With this they invite you to discover that when things get smaller they behave differently and that Nanoscience is behind many phenomena and technologies that surround us.
IMDEA Networks researchers will show you that the future is 5G. How? By showing a sustainable wireless communication device without batteries, powered by LiFi technology. Additionally, visitors will participate in a blockchain-secured voting website.
IMDEA Software will explain how some types of software work. Its researchers will teach us how to create algorithms, decipher secret messages or what is behind an image on Instagram.
